This Melissa and Doug wooden block set includes 50 alphabet blocks with hand-painted pictures, letters and numbers on each side of the blocks. Parents can foster development by encouraging kids to match, stack, sequence and sort the blocks by color, alphabetical order, numbers and more. These wood blocks come with a pouch for easy cleanup and storage. One of our favorite classic toys, these ABC blocks are open-ended and allow kids to play with them in different ways as they grow. This is a great toddler toy that is also a good preschool toy for kids.

Melissa and Doug Suggested Activities:

-Count and see how tall children can stack the blocks before they fall.
-Help kids name the image on each of the block's six sides. Repeat this activity until the child can correctly identify the images on all of the blocks.
-Create a simple structure and ask kids to reproduce it.
-Point to a picture on a block and ask what letter it begins with.
-Use the alphabet blocks to spell out a first name and simple words as age appropriate.
-Line up the blocks in ABC order, and the number blocks in numerical order from 0 to 9 (excluding duplicate numbers).
